It is with such profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Arthur Loiacono at the age of 59. He fought fiercely and courageously for 20 months, but succumbed to glioblastoma.
Michael leaves behind his devoted and loving wife, Betty Ferreira, who was by his side every day of this battle, and cared for him with such tenderness and compassion. He was a dedicated and loving father to Tyler and Lucas. Together, the four of them shared a very strong bond that allowed them to experience life to its fullest and create many cherished memories.
Michael was predeceased by his father, Arthur, and will be missed beyond words by his mother, Mary, and his sisters Cindy (Jeff ), Lisa (Marc) and Amy (Paolo) and their families.
He will also be missed by members of the Ferreira family: predeceased by his father-in-law Manuel, his mother-in-law Maria Adelina, Dina, Tony (Alda), Manny (Estelle), Maggie (Manny), Joby, his many nieces and nephews, his cousins, and numerous friends from the hockey community and Air Canada, where he worked for 35 years.
The family would like to thank the palliative care team at the CLSC Ste-Thérèse-de-Blainville for their tremendous support, care, and attention.
