Massarelli, Peter

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter James Massarelli on Monday August 8th, 2022.

Beloved husband for 41 years to Anna Maria (Catracchia). Devoted father of Melanie (Gregory) and Robert (Christine). Cherished Grampa of Hailey, Greyson and Sofia. Dear son of the late Luigi and Elizabetta (Maccarone). Predeceased by his brothers Francesco, Antonio, Armand, Giovanni, Paul and his sister-in-law Judy. Survived by his sister Mary (Nick Greco) and in- laws Ruby, Claudette, Fernande, Evelyn, Gloria (Richard), and Romeo (Fazeela). Much remembered uncle of many nephews and nieces. He will be missed by many other close relatives and friends.

Peter’s first job was with Robert Simpson Department Stores as Manager of the Photo Department. He worked for thirteen years from 1968 to 1981 for Duracell Canada Inc. as a Salesman and Regional Manager of Quebec and Eastern Canada. In 1981, Peter started Les Agences Dirabec Inc. with partners, becoming sole owner in 1999, and retiring in 2017. Peter also served his community as a dedicated Municipal Councillor for the town of Rosemère from 1991 to 1997.

Peter’s family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Francois Peloquin and Dr. Genevieve Huard of the CHUM, as well as their staff for all their care. Much appreciated support to the CHSLD Michel-Bohec, CLSC Ste-Therese de Blainville doctors & nurses, and Co-op home care staff that have helped him these past few years.

Condolences may be offered to the family at Goyer Funeral Home at 105 blvd. Desjardins East, Ste-Therese, QC, on August 24 (19:00-21:00), August 25 (14:00-17:00) & (19:00-21:00), and August 26 (10:00-11:00) followed by a memorial service. The memorial service will be lived streamed for those who are not able to attend.
